The third edition of Roca One Day Design Challenge took place on 19th of May in the heart of Moscow. The central Moscow Manege Exhibition Hall accommodated the event, providing over 250 participants with spacious and comfortable working surroundings.

This year, young architects and designers were challenged to innovate a pioneering faucet, which would integrate an interior water-filtration system. In this sense, as nowadays sustainability plays an increasingly important role, water filtration systems are seen as a key solution to reduce packaging consumption.

Alexey Lukjanov became the winner of the 2019´ edition, presenting his Proof Cleaning project, which features an absolutely new vision of shapes composing the faucet structure. Thanks to an unprecedented approach to the faucet design and clear demonstration of the filtration system, Alexey was awarded 3,000€ for the first place in the contest.

Pure Monolith by Ildar Batyrshin and Pavel Kultyshev was awarded with the second prize and 2,000€ for its coherent and functional approach. The juries have also highlighted the flexibility of the proposed design, as well as clean and pure shapes.

Ilya Aladov and Dmitry Moroz were awarded the third prize and 1,000€ for their MAGNET faucet design, which features outstanding architectural characteristics. Finally, Yulia Drozdova and Sofja Gushina, both from Institute of Business and Design B&D of Moscow, received the special We Are Water Foundation prize and 500€ for their DROP project, for its nature-centered and ecological approach.
