On May 30th, Roca One Day Design Challenge held its fourth edition in Russia, after a one-year pause due to the Covid-19 situation.

Over 200 participants were challenged to come up with innovative ideas for the bathroom space following a brief given at the start of the day.

The contest, wich took place a the Schusev State Museum of Architecture (RUIN wing) posed the challenge to young designers and architects of designing a product for the bathroom space that integrates the use of consumables (soap, toilet, paper, cologne, cream, toothbrush).

After reviewing all entries, the jury decided to select capsule+ as the first prize winner of this edition, a faucet with integrated capsular system for consumables (soap, cream...)  The jury chose this project due to its good minimalistic approach to design and for its great potential. The project was designed by Philipp Mashevets.

The second prize was awarded to Vacuum, designed by Ekaterina Vasilyeva and Leman Abdulgadirova. It consists in a toilet with a vacuum diposit for waste, avoiding odours and reducing the space used for waste.

Finally, the project Aero, created by Irina Pak, was awarded with the third prize. Aero is a shower system with integrated cartridges for consumables. When switched off, it has a smooth surface. The jury highlighted that this project absolutely meets the requirements of the task. Good and qualitative design. Product, which is easy to realize without going deep into any fantastic stories
