Inês Lobo

Born in Lisbon in 1966, Inês began her career after graduating in architecture from Lisbon's Higher Institute of Fine Arts in 1989. She created her own studio, Inês Lobo, Arquitectos, in 2002.

Inês has taught Architecture since 1989, and is currently a Guest Lecturer on the Architecture Course of Lisbon’s Independente University. She is regularly invited to speak at seminars and conferences in Portugal and abroad.

She has recently curated and been commissioned for architectural exhibitions, and represented Portugal at the Venice Biennale in 2012, as well as being a delegate at the VIII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.

Inês is a regular presence on the juries of national and international architecture awards, such as the Secil prize, in 2006, and the FAD in 2012.

In 1999, she was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of Merit by the President of the Republic; in 2014, she was awarded a distinction for "Women creators of culture" by the Portuguese government; and in 2014, she was awarded the ArcVision - Women and Architecture international prize.
