ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

As described in the item “Objective”, this contest includes a “Challenge” proposed by ROCA to young designers. The “Challenge” is further described in the item “Project” of this regulation and, in general, it is proposed that the participants develop and present to ROCA, at the end of a workday, a project of an “OBJECT FOR THE BATHROOM”.

On the day and time informed in this regulation, those registered must attend the Showroom of ROCA Brazil in the city of São Paulo, Capital. Everyone must attend in advance and as observed in the timetables included in this document for the “Accreditation”, so that his/her presence is registered and, also, to be able to provide ROCA the documents referred to in the “Registration” item.

At the time scheduled to “start the work”, ROCA will present to all participants, live, in writing, and in detail, which is the design “Challenge” to be effectively accomplished by all and, in the end, delivered to the organizing committee for evaluation.

The presented projects must comply with the following: (a) must be realistic projects, i.e. of possible and feasible execution with the technology existing in 2018; (b) must have a good design, which means that projects must also comply with functional criteria; (c) must meet all criteria and specifications presented by ROCA to the participants on the effective date of the “Challenge”; (d) must be unique projects, of authorship and ownership of those who submit it to the organizing committee of this promotional event; and (e) must not have been used previously by the participants for any other purpose.

Participants will have the time from 10 am to 6 pm on September 1, 2018, to work on the development of the project. The work must be developed in the Showroom of ROCA Brazil, and it will not be allowed that the participants leave the place without first delivering the project to ROCA, under the penalty of disqualification.

ROCA will offer the participants the required infrastructure (workstations, electricity, network to access the internet) so that they can remain in the Showroom during the “Challenge” day. However, the participants must bring their work material, such as computers, reference books, and others that they consider necessary to the execution of their project, given that such tools will not be made available by ROCA on site.

From the specific and properly detailed information that shall be provided on the Challenge day, equally and simultaneously to all participants, orally and in writing, and which will be distributed to all, they should present to ROCA a project of an OBJECT for the bathroom that is useful and unique.

The projects must consider aspects such as sustainability, personal well-being, accessibility for people with disabilities and, also the lack of affordable housing (adapted to people with special needs) for a great part of the population, i.e. relevant aspects and which are part of the everyday life of the general population and, therefore, which are also present in the houses and bathrooms of people, although not always covered by the products available today on the market for use in bathrooms.

The presented projects must also be aligned with the objective of ROCA to involve the community of young designers in the research of original and innovative solutions, in addition to simple, in order to further improve the users’ interaction with the products for the bathroom.
