Barbara's academic career in the field of Design started in high school, studying Arts in the city of Viseu. Later on, she moved to Lisbon, where she took a degree in Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. After having a comprehensive idea of what design meant, she decided that she wanted to deepen her knowledge about it. She started her Masters in Equipment Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. Currently, she is writing her master's thesis with the theme focused on the area of Food Design and Sustainability.

She is fascinated by the endless possibilities of Design, but what really moves her are the deep relationships between people and the search for better solutions and meaning in people's lives.
