João Queirós was born in Porto in June 2000. Growing up is his home city of Alfena, he was always interested in how things are made and how he too might make and invent things. That led him to study Equipment Design at Escola Artística e Profissional Árvore. After an internship in Malta, he found his path at Caldas da Rainha School of Arts and Design (ESAD.CR). He achieved a licentiate degree in Industrial Design and is currently completing his master’s degree in Product Design at the same school of higher education. He never ceases to be fascinated by the way things work and getting his hands dirty. That sense of wonder that comes from making something real and well thought out from a simple idea or sketch is what drives him today. Materials, values, manufacturing processes and new ways of looking at problems are his main concerns when applying himself to design.
